Dr. Roslyn Hopf
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience helping adolescents and adults navigate eating disorders, anxiety, depression and related challenges. I specialize in evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and I’m passionate about supporting individuals and families on their journey toward recovery and lasting change. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minnesota, where I was also part of the Eating Disorders Research Program. I went on to complete my clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Chicago in the Departments of Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. During that time, I trained in FBT and worked as a therapist on two large-scale, federally funded studies for adolescents with Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.
In 2005, I moved to Germany as an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at the University Hospital Heidelberg, where I developed an online support group for parents using FBT. I later opened a private practice near Frankfurt, providing care for teens and adults across Europe who were dealing with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. In addition, I co-supervised FBT training at the Charité University School of Medicine in Berlin.
In 2023, I returned to the Twin Cities, and I opened my new practice here in 2024. I continue to stay active in the professional community—serving as a faculty member at the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders.
Whether you’re a parent looking for support or an individual ready to take the next step, I’m here to help with thoughtful, compassionate, and research-informed care.
